Join JIVE - Jewish innovative voices and experiences led by Grammy Award-winning countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen, baritone and cantor of Sherith Israel Simon Barrad, dazzling violinist Elizabeth Castro Greenberg, and Ronny Michael Greenberg at the keys for Taste of Talent’s season opener A Golden New Year celebrating Rosh Hashanah at the Century Club on Saturday, September 20 at 7:30pm!

This year’s program blends golden songs and uplifting melodies that echo the call of the shofar ranging from Yiddish and Sephardic traditions to Srul Irving Glick’s Suite Hébraïque, Broadway, Handel and Gluck, Soul, Jazz, and bold new arrangements. The evening features the premiere of Ronny Michael Greenberg’s Ladino song “Anyos de Oro,” alongside beloved classics like Golden Days, Golden Slumbers, Nature Boy, and Happy Days. Guests will also enjoy a festive dessert reception by Saul’s Delicatessen, paired with fine wine, spiced apple sangria, and honey cocktails - an evening of renewal, sweetness, and joy.

The evening begins with The Warm-Up: a festive welcome featuring our signature TILT cocktail, local craft ales, and curated bistro bites. As the sunlight fades through the cathedral’s radiant stained-glass windows, the concert unfolds in a glowing fusion of sound and color.

Curated and music-directed by Ronny Michael Greenberg, this year’s program features the legendary, Grammy Award-winning soprano Leah Crocetto, whose soaring voice has graced stages from the Metropolitan Opera to the Sydney Opera House and Vienna. Together, they bring to life a luminous program spanning opera and jazz.

Visual alchemy returns with Mad Alchemy’s Analog Liquid Light Show, casting a kaleidoscope of color throughout the sacred space.

The evening begins at 6:00pm with cocktails in the grand lobby, where guests will be serenaded by the captivating Ronny Michael Greenberg at the piano. From 3-4pm Ronnty will be representing San Francisco Opera during their 101st Season opening weekend in the Zellerbach Gardens, with vibrant and virtuosic arrangements of Grand Opera (Rigoletto, Tristan und Isolde, Fledermaus), paired with music that mirrors the beauty and intimacy of the gardens (Debussy & Mozart).
